LiberalOasis Joins The Spotlight Project

Chapter 8 of Wait! Don't Move To Canada! is titled "Engage The Corporate Media," and offers:

Conservatives have declared war on every corner of the media and are successfully waging that war with their own media army. We must join the battle if we are ever to have a public-service media that allows American citizens to make well-informed decisions when charting the direction of their representative government.

The Spotlight Project was a step ahead of me. It created a easy way for citizens to contact reporters and editors, and call their attention to blog posts with information being overlooked by the mainstream media.

Now on LiberalOasis, you'll see "Spotlight" links at the bottom of every post. Click the link, and you'll be able to choose which journalists you want to send that blog post to, along with your own insights.

The Spotlight Projects stresses the importance of being polite when contacting reporters, as do I in Wait! Don't Move To Canada!:

...always remember that while [journalists] are often interested in hearing feedback, they are also constantly pressed for time. Keep your communications succinct and polite. Long essays will be ignored and angry rants will be dismissed.

As firedoglake noted, the entire Spotlight Project will be marginalized if we don't keep that in mind.

Now, go forth and win back our media!
