Stupid Dirty Laundry

Talking Points Memo flags this WSJ account of internal strife in the Clinton campaign:

the campaign has something of a shellshocked feel, as staffers privately chew over a blowup last week where internal frictions flared into the open. Clinton campaign operatives say it happened as top Clinton advisers gathered in Arlington, Va., campaign headquarters to preview a TV commercial. "Your ad doesn't work," strategist Mark Penn yelled at ad-maker Mandy Grunwald. "The execution is all wrong," he said, according to the operatives.

"Oh, it's always the ad, never the message," Ms. Grunwald fired back, say the operatives. The clash got so heated that political director Guy Cecil left the room, saying, "I'm out of here."

Long-time readers (with really good memories) know that LiberalOasis has always found the airing of dirty laundry to be an infuriating chronic problem with Beltway Dems that undermines any coordinated message trying to be communicated to the public.

The above example is not the only time we've seen such idiocy come from Clinton staffers.

But I cannot think of a single time that has happened with the Obama campaign, even when the campaign was down.

They appear to be a professionally loyal team that keeps their eye on the ball and doesn't go to the press trying to win petty turf battles.

A heartening sign for the future.
