MSNBC's First Read said this morning: "Many news organizations will feel compelled to do Ayers stories in the next few days."
But today's media coverage was not dominated by that.
It was dominated by the widespread disgust at ABC for their awful debate moderation -- so much so, that ABC's World News with Charlie Gibson felt compelled to cover how much people hated it.
Left to their own devices, traditional media outlets certainly would have had a frenzy over the fresh blood of the Ayers non-story.
(Even though they already concluded there was no story there, else they would have already run stories on it after the original Ayers coverage in the Politico -- which gets no linky from LiberalOasis.)
But they were not left to their own devices. A grassroots cry was quickly heard online -- actual outrage, not the manufactured kind. And the media were forced to take notice.
That's a good day.
