Two years ago, Charlotte, NC commercial real estate broker Harry Taylor calmly spoke truth to power.
At a rare public forum with President Bush, Taylor told him, "while I listen to you talk about freedom, I see you assert your right to tap my telephone, to arrest me and hold me without charges, to try to preclude me from breathing clean air and drinking clean water and eating safe food ... in my lifetime, I have never felt more ashamed of, nor more frightened by, my leadership in Washington."
The shot was heard around the world.
Now, Harry Taylor is running for Congress for the first time, against six-term incumbent Rep. Sue Myrick.
This past weekend, Taylor spoke to attendees of the national Drinking Liberally conference meeting in Charlotte. Afterwards, I had the chance to ask Taylor a few questions. Check out the two-part interview below.
