Navel-Linking

Some more thoughts on my Conservative Correctness post from Blue Mass Group, Low and Left, Skippy The Bush Kangaroo and Too Sense.
Mick LaSalle also weighs in, while mentioning he’s begun reading Wait! Don’t Move To Canada!.
Undercover Blue is also reading Wait!, and is skeptical of the book’s argument that liberals can successfully make the case for equal marriage rights.
Which gives me an opportunity to link to a review I missed while I was on the road in the fall — One Utah has a very favorable two-parter, here and here, that also discusses the book’s approach on gay rights and other social issues.

Left Jab on Sunday

This Sunday at 8 AM ET (repeating at 11 PM PT), I’ll be discussing the new Congress, the rise of the blogosphere and Wait! Don’t Move To Canada! on Left Jab, heard on XM Satellite Radio Ch. 133.

In Time For The Holiday…

Street Prophets was kind enough to post a review of Wait! Don’t Move To Canada!, with some high praise along with constructive criticism for the “second edition.”
And Jesus’ General put together a gift list for “the Frenchmen and Frenchnotmen in your life,” and generously included Wait!…. It’s a great list, so if you’re looking for gift ideas, definitely check it out.

FireDogLake Book Salon

We just wrapped up the FireDogLake Book Salon, which was full of thoughtful questions, observations and action ideas. Click here to check out the conversation.

Book Tour Happenings This Weekend

Forgive me for taking Friday off. On a day when Dubya assured us that there wouldn’t be “some kind of graceful exit out of Iraq,” what else is there to say?
But I did want to let you know about a couple of book tour events this weekend.
On Saturday, if you’re in the New York City area, come out to the Small Press Book Fair. I’ll be joining several great bloggers there for the following panel discussion:
Saturday, December 2 @ 2-3 PM
Small Press Book Fair
General Society Library of Mechanics and Tradesmen
20 West 44th Street, Room 208
THE RISE OF THE PROGRESSIVE BLOGOSPHERE AND THE FUTURE OF AMERICAN POLITICS
Leading liberal/progressive political bloggers Lindsay Beyerstein (Majikthise), Jeffrey Feldman (Frameshop), Bob Geiger (bobgeiger.com) and Bill Scher (LiberalOasis, author Wait! Don’t Move to Canada!) discuss the progressive blogosphere’s rise to power, and how this newly emergent political force will remake not only the Democratic Party, but the entire American political landscape.
Then on Sunday at 5 PM ET, FireDogLake will be featuring me in its famous online Sunday Book Salon. I’ll be taking questions about the book and participating in the discussion for a couple of hours, so please log on and join in.

Tonight at 7 PM ET I’ll be talking about Wait! Don’t Move To Canada! on Midweek Politics, which airs on Northampton, MA’s Valley Free Radio, 103.3 FM. You can find Pacifica Radio affiliates that air the show here.
